Mike’s newest Bluegrass CD, “Dead Center” will release this fall in time for holiday shopping!! Dead Center was produced by Sammy Shelor of Lonesome River Band

Guitar and Mandolin parts by Wyatt Rice and Jeff Midkiff with Jacob Eller, of Sierra Hull and Highway 101 fame, on bass!

Will be released later this fail. It can be pre-ordered via Mitchell Music Co. website for $15, free shipping.

Dead Center will also be available for download on Itunes and CD Baby or right here in hard copy, along with Thirteen Hours and Classics on Conners.

Warren Amberson of Acoustic Endeavors has agreed to add a couple of his original works to the new Gospel on Conners CD. Ronald Smith and Allen Mills of The Lost and Found are adding bass, guitar and banjo tracks. Recording for Gospel on Conners begins this month with Harold Thompson at Blackwater recording in Wirtz, VA.

Mike is also putting the finishing touches on the Dead Center CD. With Sammy Shelor, Wyatt Rice, Jeff Midkiff and Jacob Eller. This all Bluegrass CD should be out by springtime.

The Mike Mitchell Trio

The Mike Mitchell Trio includes Abe Goorskey on guitar, mandolin and tenor harmony, as well as Josh Morgan on bass.

Mike and Abe have been playing together for a decade. They are founding members of the Roanoke, VA group Blue Moonshine. Abe did guitar and mandolin tracks for the 13 Hours CD. Josh is the “new guy” in the group and we are enjoying hearing this sound come together. Look for more MM trio gigs this spring and summer.

The CD is ‘in the can’ and will be out this fall. Montana Young, Jeff Midkiff and John McBroom have contributed tracks on their Conner instruments, and Cara Modisett’s piano and harpsichord work is beautiful. Look for Classical Grass show dates in the schedule section.
